An invader of any force can only hope for good will of anyone that comes across them, and expect death at the very least as an invader once discovered!

I am American. You ALMOST have this correct. The US has never gone to war to defend its way of life or values since WWII. Every war since than has been purely about interests, NOT needs. I say that again, we went to war for WANT, NOT NEED!

I am not a big fan of FT4/8 though it does have some value. I have been a ham for near 30 yrs. and still enjoy many aspects. I hate the gatekeeping, and love seeing new things attempted. As a VE, I encourage new hams and modes, as well as new experiments. I prefer lasers, but not many others! KF6NFW

When I worked for a company, I watched a guy FAFO with some etch. It didnt go well. He lost more than a finger. He was exposed to about 0.5mL. Piranha Solution is no joke. I too work in the field, and can say, this is something you just wear protection for, and you dont question it!

I also understand the argument first as a bike rider. I have been in 2 bicycle v auto incidents. I was dragged under the car 32 ft the first time, and went through the windshield the second time. I certainly understand the concerns and desires for the cams, but I value my privacy just a bit more.

To be fair, I do have a background in this field. I use to own a communications company in N. Ca. installing these systems as well as others for counties and state. I now own a emergency prep/ consult company that responds to nat. disasters. This is a topic I know very well, and discuss often.

The average person is willing to give up their rights because they think its easier to live under a microscope, until they realize they have nothing, and they have no defense against it. It is utter madness to think giving up privacy will provide safety. How does that work?

There are ways of staying alive and in communications, without being tracked every minute. It does take a little extra work. It does mean not using Google or other mainstream platforms. it does mean using security bags, and turning devices off. It does mean VPN, TOR, etc.

Youre making an assumption about me giving up privacy again. Just because I have a cell phone does not mean I forgoe privacy. I do work in the communications field, security is my job. Privacy is my #1 priority.

Be careful of such a slippery approach of giving up your rights. I am not willing to do such. My right to privacy is far superior to anyone's safety. Something needs to be done, I agree, but giving up privacy is not the path!

In general cams protect the city not the public. They generate revenue for the city. They track persons and assets. They are not there for the public to solve their insurance issues. It sucks! Especially Flock.

Without knowing where you actually are, I will hold my full thoughts, but I can say, cam's dont really do the job people think they do.

You started off right, but there is a lot of assumption. I know many GOP members that are not rapist, and despise the sentiment of being lumped together. I am not a (D) either, and despise being called a lib just the same, nor am I a (R). Tribalism sucks and leads to the situations we are in.
