The velvet looking interior of the Heliamphora pitcher is actually an array of tiny specialized trichomes. When broken, these release chemicals to drug unsuspecting insects to fall into the urn below to be digested. 🌱

My indoor Sarracenia set up. North American pitcher plants tend to make terrible indoor plants, unless you have enough light, space, and climate control! Definitely best enjoyed as an outdoor plant in most of the US. 🌱

Here's a picture of Pinguicula x Gina that shows off the short sensile glands that Butterworts use to trap their prey. They secrete a sticky glue to traps prey, then they release digestive enzymes to eat their victim! Truly an awesome Carnivorous Plant 🌱

Just a bunch of sticky sundews! These are Drosera Graomogolensis in the background, Drosera Adelae up close. These are Carnivorous Plants! They use that sticky mucilage to trap and digest their prey. 🌱

Nepenthes Ramispina, an Asian Pitcher Plant, known for its dark colored exterior, neon green peristome, and extremely dark maroon leaves when exposed to higher light. This is an absolute banger of a Carnivorous Plant! 🌱

Growing Venus Flytrap indoors requires powerful lights, but it's awesome to have a pot full of chomping mouths! These are under roughly 650 PPFD of Red/Blue (the dreaded blurple) colored lights. I find using Blue to be both better for the plants and your eyes in the long run. 🌱

Another Butterwort post 🌱! This time, Pinguicula Laueana x Emarginata. This carnivorous succulent is a standout for being easy to grow and the purple coloration the radiates from the leaf margins.
