on my mind in particular is that the homelessness metaphor gets v interesting when you hold it up to themes that get criticized in a lot of post-apoc fiction, e.g. zombies being An Excuse for Dehumanization. bc a hallmark of homelessness is that YOU are no longer a person according to society
