What is a smiling man moment?

I understand that. But what is the betrayal? What's being ratted out? That's gone right over my head

Did Robinson fall through a portal from the regency period?

I just looked up Jimmy Kimmel because I couldn't remember his face. I immediately thought "Oh! This is who I thought Jimmy Fallon was. What does he look like then?" So I looked him up and I was like "Oh!...wait, what?"

They are definitely different people. I could not actually describe how though.

This was a deeply confusing post until my brain finally parsed the ‘e’ in dyeing.

I think two things can be true basically - what honey/paypal did is fucked up and also this is being super overblown.

Fuck PayPal, I’m not defending them or not meaning to. I just don’t think YouTubers were at all defrauded. In a strictly moral sense you could say they were robbed. But was no agreement between them and honey (except they get paid in the case of sponsorships) so there can’t be fraud or a scam.

I don’t think they should! When I say not a big deal I just mean I don’t thinks it’s illegal or anything a creator can sue for. And users might be rightfully mad - but again in that case most of their orders weren’t made through an affiliate link at all most likely.
December 23, 2024 at 3:22 AM
Except by that logic, if I watch an LTT video and then go to the retailer directly to purchase I’ve stolen from LTT.

What’s functionally happening is a user is following an affiliate link, but then choosing to use a different affiliate. The user may not be aware but that’s between them and honey.

Except who is being defrauded?those links are agreements between Linus and the merchant - wish isn’t involved. The user that installed wish may be unaware but they are in no way harmed by having unknowingly used a different affiliate then expected

They just didn’t check if other links were already there and so ones already there got overridden. This would be a tiny percentage of orders tbh, most things people buy they did not follow an affiliate link.

Maybe merchants might have some issue but they were probably aware of the model tbh
