Hmmm not sure why this misinformation keeps popping up on cross foxes. They aren't the rarest by any means. They are part of the red fox family and is rarer, but the silver/blue fox is rarer than the cross. I believe the rarest is actually the island fox, but maybe that has changed over the years.
