This seems right. They are playing as well as I could imagine for a team with $100 million in contracts either not playing or playing well below 100%, but that means they're still a team in a cap league not really using $100 million of the cap right now.

I completely agree. I wish that either analysts spent more time publicly assessing their prior accuracy, or that some jerk with free time regularly analyzed the analysts. It's been years since I checked, but there was a time when DVOA was less predictive of future success than win/loss records.

I completely get that. I don't think I've seen it since the theater, but am looking forward to rewatching it when the Blank Check podcast covers it in a few months.

It would probably be my #1 Coen Bros. movie, because in addition to it being funny, provocative, and thoughtful, I think it has explanatory power over most of the rest of their filmography in a way that none of their other films do. Though with the Coen Bros., I would accept nearly any ranking.

I honestly can't believe it. Somehow fitting that Spurs and Harry Kane finally won a trophy in the same year, though sadly not together.

He played on a Rutgers team that couldn't make the tournament despite having two top 5 picks. If he didn't have incredibly on/off numbers he wouldn't be picked anywhere in the first round.

You're right. I wish I could find a cultivated feed for amusing nonsense/shithousery. I've tried to have my own feeds just dedicated to entertainment or sports where I can go to hide from <gestures wildly>, but it doesn't always work b/c those people I follow sometimes reflect the world back to me.

That is a good point that can be easy for me to lose sight of in the moment. It's easy to slide down the doom spiral, but worthwhile to remember that nothing yet has been written in stone.

Exactly! If your stats favorably compare garbage time yards against backups to yards during the meaningful portion of the game, then I don’t trust your historical stats because I don’t have the context to know whether they were accumulated in competitive situations.

I'm reasonably sure that all of Huff, Reddick, the Eagles, and the Jets would all prefer that Huff stayed on the Jets and Reddick stayed on the Eagles.
