WOW. Just finished the novel Yellowface by Rebecca F. Kuang. I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised by the ending… This story is very insightful about diverse artists, tokenism, the publishing industry, and the way we justify our actions. HIGHLY entertaining!

WOW. Just finished the novel Yellowface by Rebecca F. Kuang. I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised by the ending… This story is very insightful about diverse artists, tokenism, the publishing industry, and the way we justify our actions. HIGHLY entertaining!

On Thursday I got to spend the day at Wanuskewin Heritage Park just outside Saskatoon for a work meeting. Great place to visit if you want to learn more about Indigenous history, art and culture. And the DESSERT BANNOCK!!! 😋 We didn’t see any buffalo, sadly.

28 minutes into #USOpen men’s singles final, & I see on TV that there are still MANY people there who haven’t gotten into the stadium yet because of tighter security with the US President there, and they weren’t warned about it. Brutal! But at least Mindy Kaling and BJ Novak are there together. 😍

A couple weeks ago my friend RaeAnne Ellert launched her book “RaeAmblings”. I barely started reading it, but I’m pretty sure I’m gonna have a few cries while reading this. RaeAnne is a big supporter of local music, and she volunteers at Excalipurr Cat Café where her launch was held! 😺📚 #skarts

Went to “Bring it On: The Musical” at Globe Theatre earlier this week and LOVED IT! Some good hip hop dance crew scenes. Pictures here of the curtain call, band, backstage (from playing there the next day with RSOCP) and “gym floor”. #skarts

What a fun week! I got to play a couple tunes with the Regina Symphony Chamber Players at Globe Theatre for the final lunchtime concert this season. It was also Miles Newman’s last concert as principal trumpet of the RSO. 🎺
