That’s funny, I was just talking to someone about how I hate getting my blood pressure taken. It’s not even that uncomfortable of a sensation but something about the inflating cuff makes me feel like I’m going to go into trapped feral animal mode

It’s subtle, but the basic idea is that saying “trans women” makes it clear that we are talking about a subcategory of women, rather than a whole new term. It’s clear from your post that you mean it in good faith but some people use it to imply that trans women are a distinct category from women

Fully agree with the sentiment! However just be aware that the preferred terminology includes the space (i.e. “trans man” and “trans woman”), since the combined version is sometimes used as a dogwhistle to imply that trans people aren’t really members of their gender group. But yes!
