@slothrop I've used Vorta in the past, but now I just use backintime. https://vorta.borgbase.com. It's not GTK+/gnome though. Qt.

@plantarum Cinnamon or KDE/Plasma. I'd probably go with Cinnamon, which is the default for Linux Mint (but available pretty much everywhere). Has a traditional start menu, bottom oriented(?) task bar (if not you can move it).

@Gargron Imagine buying something from a local store instead of amazon was called "sideshopping" and there's a massive campaign to delegitimize buying items from stores not approved by amazon. Completely absurd. Why accept that exact ideology when it comes to installing software on your phone?
