Been thinking lately that I’ve shelved this for too long.

Beginning to hear the call to celebrate and educate fans about Captain Marvel again.

Within the past few months,DC has been calling alternate versions of the character Captain Marvel (though it’s unclear if the Thor/Shazam! version is an alternate version or the main one).

Just a matter of time before DC starts using it for their main version instead of The Captain.

You guys!

Thor/Shazam! is SO good!

Easily the best Captain Marvel adventure (see what I did there?) since Thunderworld!

I’ll post more about it later, but it hit all of the right notes for me.

I have said many times over the years, paraphrasing Morpheus, of course... the greats always return to their original forms.

Captain Marvel will return to his original form - and he is getting really close to it.

This, of course, follows after other recent examples in projects involving alternate versions of the character.

The wins just keep on coming.

Yet another instance of DC using the Captain Marvel moniker.

I wanna mail this to Marvel just to see what happens lol

This is a great concept, a book that chronicles the character’s different eras of stories.

Unlike encyclopedias, where they lay out all the trivia and facts, a guidebook that actually describes each individual era gives you insight into the significant stories they had in a particular era.

FINALLY.

Thank you, Jim Lee.

Superman is antifa (and anti-Nazi):

In the main publishing line, they call him The Captain (see pic).

With the other two titles, it really feels as if it is just a matter of time before they return to using the Captain Marvel moniker permanently.

Two of DC’s new titles (Magical Mysteries of Shazam! and Superman: Kryptonite Spectrum, Pics 1 and 2, respectively) are using the Captain Marvel moniker.

Not only are they…

As a Captain Marvel fan, my day has been made:

The Marvel and DC crossover that I still dream of:

The Marvel Family meets Marvel’s First Family.

Forgot to post here, but this past weekend, i got to attend a pahi kaua (war knife or sword) workshop and i made my first pahi kaua!

You will see these weapons in the upcoming Chief of War show.

Started doodling some figure exercises for Power Shark, just because I wanted to start getting a better feel for what his visual language will be like and I wanted a little change of pace on working on Captain Pono.

Will eventually do a lot more.

For now, I have some obligations to oblige!

I don’t know if Gail Simone did this on purpose, but in Hawaiian mythology, man-eating sharks referred to humans as “crabs.”

Man-eating shark gods such as Mikololou and Pehu would use that term. Pehu, once was quoted, “I am catching a crab for my breakfast.”

Finally got my hands on the art book for Moana 2.

Some of the best concept artists in the world work for Disney (and many of their subsidiaries), so these books are always a treat.

Yet another company hiring for an AI “artist.”

For those who insist that generative AI is a skill, let me ask you this:

Why are these companies only offering what basically amounts to fast food wages?

$20 an hour.

You sure they value you or the so-called “skills” you think you have?

Just a little coloring in between things.

Just for funsies, I wanted to color Māui the demigod from a panel that I did for Māui: Genesis, one of the mo‘olelo for the Maui Strong comic book anthology.

You’ll see my line art in the anthology, but it will be colored by another artist, Aaron Nakahara.

Woot!

I guess while I’m talking about Hawaiian shark gods, it’s a good time to remind folks that I still plan to publish Power Shark!

Happy birthday to one of the greatest to do it and the co-creator of the original Captain Marvel, C.C. Beck!
