How do you feel towards American tourists now? There are always lots in Edinburgh and I used to welcome them warmly. Now I want to ask them first if they voted for Trump.

So both France and Germany are politically and economically unstable. Brexit did not just damage the UK, it weakened and damaged EU too.

Gordon Brown sounding more eloquent, intelligent and compassionate than any current politician. Same with John Major, Ken Clarke , Tony Blair. Our political classes sound like robots now, zero empathy, zero imagination.

Loving this cold bright weather. The beaches and Edinburgh sparkling in the sun. A hillwalkers dream, such a shame the weekend brings wind and rain !

I used to enjoy Scottish Twitter full of Scottish Independence supporters ( Nats we sane people call them), posting furiously about UK flags on scottish produce and other nonsense. I miss them.

So clearly X and Bsky are now 2 distinct groups of people and for balance you need both. Not closing my X account as I think it has some valid voices there.

I am really enjoying the absence of advertising here, but it does seem a bit like the Guardian comments section. What if you occasionally agree with The Telegraph ?

Is it OK here to assert that sex in humans is binary and immutable? Perhaps even think that cross-dressing men who want to use our changing rooms may be a bit dodgy ?

Suppose I’m going to have to put the heating on. I SO resent the cost of something so basic,so essential. Many people live in dread of having to heat their homes because of the cost. We pay the highest prices for energy in Europe. Why is that ?
