Well now that Nintendo has stopped serving Russia and will most likely never return even if the war ends why not start doing stuff for Ukraine including Ukrainian translations?

They want to start translating games into Polish and Thai. So, no Russian language for Nintendo games anymore. At least Polish is closer to Russian, so it will be easier to do some fan-translations using Polish text as a reference.

Pretty sure the war and pulling out of Russia (+ the facts they probably won’t enter other Russian-speaking markets) just gave Nintendo reasons to start winding down Russian translations and look for other languages to replace it (like Polish and Thai and maybe someday Ukrainian)

And I’m pretty sure if they need another language they’ll probably start doing Ukrainian translations do those and Polish and Thai can replace Russian

If anything they’ll probably enter Ukraine and start doing Ukrainian translations, which then they’ll gradually replace Russian translations with Ukrainian translations instead

And with Nintendo likely to stay out of Russia permanently even if the war ends they’ll pretty much never have a push for the Russian language again like back when they first started using it
