THE BELL JAR

HARD ❌

It was a queer, sultry summer, the summer they electrocuted the Rosenbergs, and I didn't know what I was doing in New York

EASY ✅

That summer was sizzling, and so were the Rosenbergs

Impressive! You need to be an expert to actually differentiate from human vs ai generated poetry.

Not only that, the perception of quality for ai generated content is in general better than for human written poetry.
I'm really fascinated by this dataset from the AI poetry survey paper. Here's another visualization I just made. Survey respondents were shown one of these 10 poems, and either told that they were authored by AI, human, or not told anything.

Since I've been here for a while… here are some useful features on Bluesky that you might not have discovered yet! 🧵

✨ Do current neural speech models show human-like linguistic biases in speech perception?

We took inspiration from classic phonetic categorization experiments to explore where sensitivity to phonotactic context emerges in Wav2Vec2 models 🔍

Controlling for error and biases in LLM in an easy way? I'm all for it
We've been working on just that at @weightsbiases.bsky.social with Weave!

Weave is a lightweight llm tracing and evaluations toolkit, that focuses on letting you iterate fast and make sure that your production LLM based application is not degrading when you change prompts or models!

This is a super interesting plot.

ML conventional wisdom is the bias-variance trade-off.

Here is a neural net with a single hidden layer. At first, bias decreases and variance increases.

As you train for longer, you get a phase transition and then *both* decrease.

I've been on twitter since april 2023. I'm not feeling yet ready to leave it completely, but I think I'm ready to start sharing again my thoughts in a healthier community.

Llevaba en twitter desde 2013. No sé si estoy preparado para dejarlo, por lo que me aporta profesionalmente, pero sí que había dejado de publicar porque el ambiente me resultaba hostil. Me apetece volver a compartir cosas con el mundo.
