Complaining about the price of something is normal consumer behavior, and in this case it's successfully kept the prices of games relatively affordable. I'd say that's a good thing. Raising prices would have no effect on working conditions for developers.

I've played about 500 hours since launch. A lot of issues have been fixed and I really, really like the gameplay loop. VI got pretty turgid the last hundred or so turns but the eras mix it up nicely. It's a little more linear, for better and worse.
