The timing of the 'incident', as our PM was meeting DJT and handing over more money for AUKUS, could lead some to speculate it was performative. A little bit of theatre to remind us why we need it.

With preferential voting here in Australia it's much the same. Our conservative coalition are the nightmare, the liberal (Labor) party 2nd worst & I hope for minority govt with greens/independents having balance of power. But the coalition are campaigning poorly & helping Labor towards a majority.

It's the world's biggest stock market manipulation of all time. Him & his mates are going to greatly increase their wealth out of this when they decide when to drop the tariffs and turn things around. Any leader who bends the knee to him is a fool. No tit-for-tat tariffs and ride it out is the play

Duckduckgo easily the best option and if it doesn't return what you want, the use of ! Is brilliant. I often use !G for Google, !GS Google shopping etc. You can search all the other search engines from the same spot. Just start your search with ! to see the list pop up

When they do these cuts, it's typically by offering redundancy packages (e.g. 2 weeks salary per year of service) - so the most knowledgeable and senior staff take early retirement. Then external workers needed to fill the gaps. End result is a huge govt expense & decline in APS service levels

I agree that's the best outcome. I've not voted for the duopoly for many elections but my 2nd preference generally went to one of them. Not any more. A pox on both their houses.
