#Sisu is a bats**t crazy, completely implausible, over the top violent action movie that is completely entertaining.

You need to see the first film for context but once it starts, it hardly stops.

The villains are paper thin but that hardly matters.

Great fun!

#RunningManMovie is a superb adaptation of the original Stephen King novel.
Glen Powell is the perfect lead for the film, the action and comedy come thick and fast and it is a great popcorn movie.
Not everything works but it doesn’t take away the enjoyment the film contains.

#Relay is a terrific throwback to the conspiracy thrillers of the 1970s.
Riz Ahmed gives a great dramatic performance in the lead, with brilliant support from Lily James and Sam Worthington.
Tightly plotted, constantly tense, superbly acted and gripping.
See it from Friday.

#ShelbyOaks is a mix of The Blair Witch Project, Barbarian, The Omen and other horror movies.

While it’s not bad, it’s simply not scary, telegraphs the plot, and never reaches its full potential.

At 90 minutes, it doesn’t outstay its welcome.

A neat chiller for Halloween

#Giant is a wonderfully entertaining, insightful drama at the relationship between Naseem Hamed and his trainer, Brendan Ingle.

Pierce Brosnan is superb as Ingle with great support from Amir El-Masry as Hamed.

When the film ends, you’ll love one but despise the other

#Pillion is a decent comedy drama that is stylishly told and woven.

Alexander Skarsgard and Harry Melling are wonderfully cast as dominant and submissive in their relationship.

It’s not for everyone but it is entertaining and elegantly told.

#TheHistoryOfSound confirms that Paul Mescal is possibly in line for 2 Oscar nominations.

A rich, moving and emotional tale that is a great journey to take.

Josh O’Connor again proves he is one of the best talents around.

There could be awards coming its way

With a sure fire Oscar nomination for Sydney Sweeney, #Christy is a highly enjoyable, emotional and inspiring sports biopic.

It does slip in a few places but it hits the target.

With great support from Ben Foster, look for the film to get many award nominations.

#DieMyLove is very heavy going fare.
On one hand, it is a stunning look at a woman’s loss of her grip on reality
On the other, it can get confusing and annoying.
Jennifer Lawrence plays her role brilliantly while Robert Pattinson does well with his content
A real melon scratcher

Happy heavenly birthday to my father, Tony Roberts, and to the mighty Rebel.
Gone but never forgotten.

#BlueMoon is a superb comedy drama that deserves to be heading for Oscar glory.

An incredible performance from Ethan Hawke powers the film towards greatness.

Andrew Scott is superb and may be heading for Best Supporting Actor.

Richard Linklater has created a gem.

#RentalFamily is a marvellous, funny, moving and emotional film that is a highlight of the film year.

Brendan Fraser is wonderful as the actor employed to take on supporting roles for clients who hire him.

The Japanese scenery is beautiful.

This is one to watch over and over.

#SpringsteenDeliverUsFromNowhere is a worthy drama concerning The Boss’ early 1980s recording of Nebraska.

Jeremy Allen White gives an Oscar Worthy performance in a film that feels a bit light in some areas.

A good watch and will get you singing.

#NoOtherChoice is a wickedly amusing film that doesn’t take itself too seriously.

With emotional and winning performances, a cutting script and great comedy, the film is a winner.

Who knew paper production could be so deadly?!!

#Anemone is sadly a let down and a waste of the talent on show.

A muddled narrative, unlikeable lead character, no real drama, no characterisation to speak of and what feels like an hallucination brings the film down.

A real pity.
