I'm all the way up to decreasing by six stitches in each corner, which is QUITE the challenge to keep track of and balance between the front and back of the shoulders.

But it seems to be working alright, so far! Fingers crossed that this is the time it works out properly!
(or, close enough)

Next time I have this out of its project bag (and enough space), I need to take more pictures, especially of the back, both the inner and outer sides, to show the stitch markers I've been using to help guide my attempt at heightening the back compared to the front.

The viciousness! Savage that box!
November 14, 2025 at 11:05 PM
Looks like I should be able to make the box the full width of the board for simplicity, with top, bottom, front, and back just strips off it.

Hopefully, it's still something I can create with the tools I have already. Not convinced I can do this with a hand saw, given my current skill level...

On the other hand, that may simplify how I need to design this whole thing.

I need a front, back, top, bottom, and both sides, plus two slightly-longer "sides" for the interior, to keep the speakers in their own (attached) boxes.

Simpler than three separate boxes, right?

I really hope they actually put some effort into the Canadian distribution of these this time around. It was always just outside my budget, and was NEVER put on clearance here either.

I actually got really pissed off at the number of Americans who assumed it was the same price as theirs...

I'm going to try to find some suitable firmware and try flashing it, but I'm not confident in my abilities just yet.

Anybody else use one of these before? Or have any experience reprogramming an ESP8266EX's firmware?

I can understand releasing in Japan. But why the heck in the US?! Yes, there's way more people in there than most other countries in the world, but with the tariffs currently in place, it's also one of the most expensive places to ship stuff into!

Absolutely adorable little fox! =^.^=

*looks at prices*

Huh. I don't remember paying $500USD for the Maintainer version back in the original campaign...

*feels the distant sting of a large purchase in the past, right in the pocketbook*

They wouldn't survive.

On a somewhat more positive note, I found these buttons that *may* be slight more suitable for this cardigan than the options I've shown before.

It's a pity there weren't more of the larger, darker buttons in the top-left corner in the package, though. Those would have been nice!

As you can see, the vertical lines making up the shoulder caps are starting to slant outwards quite markedly towards the top of what's currently here.

Which means two things:
1: I need to decrease WAY faster.
2: The decreases aren't happening "properly".

Sigh. I may have to frog this again...

Given the Hermits weren't doing "Day One" videos this time around, I'd fully expected you guys to wait until next week for your first episode. Nice work!
