Meaning like make an attempt to share the journey with you. If I we’re dating someone that I know is on that journey I’m not gonna stop their progress my having counter acting goals. And if I knew I was just looking for something casual I would be upfront and move on. No use of wasting anyone’s time

Tbh the only challenge it should be is to see if he can do it with you. If buddy really wanted something serious he would at least make an attempt. Idk that’s just me.
