How about we ask agencies (NHTSA etc.) to take into account the safety of people *outside* the vehicle when assigning ratings? To include not just things like blind spot warning systems, but the vehicle's propensity to kill others? My safety > your safety shouldn't be so much of a thing. 🤷♀️

Haven't been following this closely but was the lack of a go bag part of the problem here? Were those who died losing time by fudging around with their belongings?

This sharp analysis suggests another explanation for the productivity gap. SO INTERESTING. policyoptions.irpp.org/magazines/ap... Tax policy still needs a rethink IMO but Canada and USA are closer than may appear on the surface. On this particular metric.

Love to see government thinking creatively and messaging in innovative ways. Lots of ink has been spilled about the right winning the game on messaging. This feels like a step in the right direction.

Why would people take the risk of starting companies and employing people when it continues to be far more favorable to build wealth through passive and rent-seeking activities? Decades of messed-up tax policy *including gentle treatment of capital gains* is the entire problem with productivity ffs.

This is interesting. I wonder what AirBnB's interest is here. In a community. That has not yet enforced on illegal short-term rentals in any meaningful way. Hmmm.🤔 Love the outcome, maybe don't love the intent.
