If true, this is the most horrific show of disrespect and tyranny toward the country as a whole perhaps in the history of the Presidency. It is vile, vicious, and beneath contempt. 7 hours into his Presidency, and we are in Putin's America. Unspeakably grotesque.

People are invoking Coolidge but if he didn't use bible (it's disputed), it's not a parallel. LBJ also cant for the emergency swearing in after JFK assassination. But the better historical analogy I think is Napoleon grabbing crown from Pope Pius VII at his coronation.
