Trump’s immigration tactics are leaving children separated from their parents- every day of separation must feel like a lifetime to these children. A few wks ago, while at a salon I spoke to a woman whose friend was detained by ICE in another state. 1/5

“We thought a lot about God and thought about our families. The hope of seeing our families again, our kids, our partners, that’s what kept us going to hopefully get out to be free again” Andry Jose Hernandez Romero

It has been 4 MONTHS since @immdef.bsky.social client Andry has been held in the human rights nightmare CECOT prison in El Salvador. He is a gay make-up artist who is being imprisoned for no reason other than having been born in Venezuela and having benign tattoos. #FreeAndry now!

When you work on immigration cases, one of your worst nightmares is that your client will be deported to danger. To know our @immdef.bsky.social client was disappeared to danger by the U.S. govt is terrifying. 1/4

I saw the Statute of Liberty from a conference room during a migration symposium while taking a break for a work call on how to prepare against mass deportation. It reemphasized what some panelists shared-migration is normal and is a part of history. The response to it must be centered in justice.
