It's awful in the US, as I imagine it is in the UK. Most areas doubled in price across the board over the last 10-15 yrs.
Rented w/ 4 other ppl to save. Put down 5% on a condo in 2020. Was able to afford it due to the extremely low rate. Sold that for a 20% down payment on a 3-bed. I'm very lucky.
