It's as though we're going to do some major renovations to our home and we've hired some guys (with no experience) to do the job. We hear strange noises. We ask "Isn't that a load-bearing wall?" their response: "Shut up, we're saving you so much money. If you criticize, you need to leave the house."

I don't know much about Charlie Kirk, and I've heard a lot of good and bad about him, but no one has accused him of being on the Epstein list.

Let's assume that the midterm elections are held, and the Democratics gain control of both houses of Congress, and then the Trump administration ignores the laws and acts they pass; what then? Congress relies on the executive branch to carry out its mandates.

Third Reich, cautionary tale or instruction manual?

So the Supreme Court decided that corporations are people, with certain Constitutional rights. And now that court is on the verge of deciding that some actual people born in the United States aren't citizens.

Don't they ever get tired of:

Denying that he would ever do such a thing (you're being an alarmist)

Denying he's done such a thing (it's fake news)

Justifying that he's done such a thing (he had no choice)

So the man who was forcibly removed from the United States, is being charged with human trafficking? Is every accusation a confession?

Just curious, and I certainly don't want to go on Truth Social to find out, but pretty much every post by 47 that I hear about seems to be insults, self-agrandizment, or threats. Does he ever post anything else? Like a simple congratulations?

In the Declaration of Independence, among grievances against the King, are: "He refused his Assent to Laws" and "He has obstructed the Administration of Justice, by refusing his Assent to Laws for establishing Judiciary powers. He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone."

Sound familiar?

It's like the McCarthy/Red Scare/Xenophobia years, except this time McCarthy is in the White House

I suspect that Chief Justice Robert's "rebuke" of Donald Trump was, on one hand, a message to the public that we were still operating under a system of laws, but was also a message to Trump to not worry about this, when the matter gets to the Supreme Court, we've got your back, you can count on us.

So signing an Executive Order electronically negates that order? Then what about signing them with a Sharpie?

I don't want to visit their site, but is the Washington Post still keeping a tally of his lies?

A number of people noted that Macron stood up to the bully and the bully backed down. Seems like the bully wanted to demonstrate his "strength " by staging this scene. Notable that somehow the Russian news agency was "accidentally" allowed into the Oval Office, while Reuters and AP were barred.

I would not be surprised if Trump next commits US soldiers to fight alongside Russians, and that the Republicans are good with it.

I want everyone to know that screaming match in the Oval

Was all for Russia TV that was there

In his first administration, when he'd say something like, "Couldn't you just drop a nuclear bomb into the middle of a hurricane?" there was someone around to make sure that didn't happen. Now, as everyone around him was chosen on the basis of blind loyalty, there's no one to say "no"

So it was about the price of eggs? We hire the snake to guard the hen house. One of the first things the snake does is get rid of the watch dogs. Should we be surprised when there are fewer eggs, fewer chicken? The rich keep getting richer; do the poor not get the picture? 2025: year of the snake
