Hi! I am an atheist who supports democracy, scientific progress, 2SLGBTQIA+ well-being, and facts-based understanding. I am a diagnosed and medicated schizophrenic, an Army veteran, and a cis-male in my late thirties.
Religious organizations weaponize ignorance to battle against people of intellect, and they have had a significant degree of success recently probably on account of their sense of togetherness and pooling of resources as opposed to atheists' often less community-oriented ways.

In light of RFK JR's anti-autism push, I find myself wondering how his party, which is also anti-science and anti-progress can be the wealthier of the major parties. Is it all insider trading? What is the explanation for less-informed people becoming huge economic forces?

I feel like there's something about being religious nowadays that makes some believers subtly vindictive in a passive-aggressive way. Like some of them do actively try and seek out other's downfalls, but do so in a discreet and conniving manner.

I am not a believer, and I mean that in general. To elaborate, I don't, "Believe," anything, under any circumstances, besides occasionally trusting a loved one's unproven recounting of a physical event or experience. To me, believing something means accepting the thing as true without any reason to.

Also, if, "Evil," as the term is used by believers suggests a supernatural cause or incentive exists for people to commit wrongdoings, then those of us who are atheists need to decide on a term besides evil to describe people's intolerable behaviors. There are no mystical forces at play in reality.

Just an observation, but it pains me that people labeled neurotypical can point out a neurodivergent person's disorders on a whim like that's ammunition against them, yet plenty of neurotypicals have extremely poor character and crummy interpersonal relations but that's somehow not relevant.

As an atheist stuck living in a Christian-backed homeless shelter, who is not secretly an atheist but rather who admitted to being one upfront, I have to occasionally deal with staff remarks such as "I don't think you do" when I state that I feel guilty for falling behind on a house mandated chore.

I dislike how people shrug someone off for pointing out corruption as though that person suffers from a weak constitution. Corruption isn't a strength in any natural process or human endeavor. To be corrupt means to be faulty, sickly, failing. Being a corrupt official means being a botched official.

People who are financially secure often confront the homeless, if they acknowledge them at all, with tough love. What they don't realize is to be homeless is to dwell in a no love situation. Not saying you have to freely put a roof over a homeless person's head, but tough love isn't the way.

Seeing as I don’t have many followers at this point in time, I'm going to start with posting my general sentiments on various topics, and allow future followers to catch up later!
