We don't like to brag about this (too often) but in 1976 our brand new Arts and Social Studies Library was awarded 'commended' status at the Concrete Society Awards, or rather our architects FaulknerBrowns were for putting us up! (1/4)

One for the library nerds. Everyone else, look away! When our collections are weeded - don't panic, it's a natural library process to keep our stocks fresh - they get packed and transported to the team at AnyBook who then catalogue, store and sell each item (1/2)

On its opening day in August 1975, it boasted room for 660 readers and space for 445,000 books, and even won a Concrete Society Award for its innovative use of the material 💅.
