Update nearly 4 months later:

This dude really has me in bed kicking my feet 😭

So yeah I’m excited. It’s a job yes, and I’m sure I’ll get frustrated and stressed out by it later but for now I’m just so glad to finally be getting back to work. People around me have commented that I seem lighter nowadays and I’ve not even gone in yet but I’m excited for what’s ahead.

My savings account is so low I was looking at MAYBE two more months of bill coverage before I’d have to dip into my 401k and just take the penalties to survive

And it was getting really dark mentally if I’m being honest.

And this job/opportunity has me feeling hopeful for the first time in months!

After 16 months of heartbreak and depression this is just SO AMAZING OKAY 😭😭

I’ve done phone interviews, in person interviews, assessments the whole rounds

It’s been exhausting and heartbreaking between the ghosting, generic rejections, and just no interaction at all

Until today.

Today I was finally offered a position with a HUGE company in a global brand.

Talked to lawyers about it and they basically told me that the severance the company was offering was very fair and after their fees I’d walk with maybe an extra $200-$300 so I just accepted it

For 16 months. I have been unemployed. I’ve edited my resume and hit apply more times than I can count
