Living in Elliston, South Australia on Wirangu, Nauo and Kokatha land. It’s coastal and the town is small.
History, archives and a bunch of other stuff.
I probably won’t follow you back if you follow me. I’m at my maximum following limit.

Hugs from me as well (and I’ll even retract my claws).

Georgette Heyer circa 1930s? I love her work but there are some notable jarring moments.

Warning - “The Grand Sophy” while a rollicking read has a couple of chapters that I skip completely if I’m doing a reread.

Also, next to the problematic part of storing public and private data from handwritten sources with a US-based company without transparency about what they are gonna do with the data we are providing by asking for "transcribing" help, there are relevant issues for the craft of history itself:

Why on earth are we leaving all good criticism of privately owned data behind for this? Offering AI-fueled accesses to handwriting of the past is a data trap. We pay with the data we are providing, i.e. mostly archival documents, plus a few privately owned letters etc.

To make myself more clear: AI-fueled transcribing of "old" human handwriting is becoming a market these days, and will grow in the near future. As a historian reading such texts often, I generally welcome more help and future faster assistance.

How often do you refresh the cat grass? Do you grow your own or buy it? Asking for Moniquey who has discovered the joys of inside cat grass.

All the best to you both. Are you ok because witnessing that is traumatic as well.

I saw what you did there…and I’m impressed.

Congratulations! I bet you’re very pleased as well.

I can’t believe that I’m welling up with tears about this.

Older teddies are imbibed with the love, tears, confidences, hopes, sadness and joys of our childhood selves - and our adult selves as well.

Thanks for sharing your repair journey, it’s a lovely story.

♥️ I’m glad that you’re both feeling better.
