Activities Week has officially started!! Students have enjoyed trips to Adrenaline Quarry, where they have been axe throwing and Seaton Beach, where they participated in various activities.

Class 2 really enjoyed taking part in the #waveacademy virtual school games this week. Children really challenged themselves to try new sports skills, beat or set a personal best, and work together as a team.

Class 2 really enjoyed taking part in the #waveacademy virtual school games this week. Children really challenged themselves to try new sports skills, beat or set a personal best, and work together as a team.

Class 2 have been testing sunglasses this week, to see which offer the best protection from harmful UV rays.
We measured the amount of light able to penetrate each pair of glasses, using a strong torch to simulate the sun, and a luxmeter to measure the level of light getting through.

On Friday 20th June 2025, Haydn Pearse, Principal of Caradon APA, and colleagues from Wave MAT attended the PRUsAP Awards 2025. Haydn was awarded AP Leader of the Year – a hugely well-deserved honour – and Caradon Academy received Highly Commended AP Team of the Year. Congratulations to all!

Year 10s have been working hard in English annotating the Power and Conflict poems.
Both KS3 and KS4 had fun creating their own hovercrafts using materials such as paper plates and balloons when they had a visit from Big Bang at Schools. The sessions were insightful and offered students a way of gaining information on the array of different careers in STEM.

KS3 students enjoyed a visit from Spaceport Cornwall, where they got creative and inspired to make their own rockets. Spaceport is local to us, but focuses on a worldwide mission of creating technology that will enable massive insights into the ever rising problem of climate change.

The Primary pupils at Caradon Academy were luck enough to receive a lovely outside area to create their own outdoor library in. We all worked together as a team to transform this space into a lovely place to relax and share a book on those sunnier days, all of us are really proud of our work! 📚

Last term, the Primary pupils were amazed at being able to watch the metamorphic process of our 30 tadpoles and think about living things and processes. We were super excited to come back to school last week and find lots of baby froglets who have now gone to their new home 🐸.

Ks3 students recently enjoyed a day of sports experiences at Plymouth Marjon University with other Wave academies. It was a great display of behaviour & team skills. Thankyou to Marjon Trainee Teachers & The Youth Sports Trust for hosting us! Cant wait 'till next year!
