I have read that the US protocol for a bat in a room with a sleeping person is to vaccinate. Yet, when my hubs had a bat attack his face, the ER docs discussed if the shots were necessary. Sigh. He got them. All of them. A bat exhibiting unusual behaviour is very likely infected.
