I guess we aren’t seeing this game live…

I think the only time the Iranian Samovar gets polished is when I move…

Hello, lots of people here I’ve never met. Nice to meet you. I’m a widow who amazingly found a second soulmate, on Twitter of all places. Fell in love from over 3,000 miles away. We moved into a lovely home in southern NM and will spend summers in Oregon, avoid FL for foreseeable future. Pleasure.

As the local car clubs gather together to participate in Downtown Christmas Parade. @swimthetide.bsky.social were just walking to car from Saturday Market when we came across this…

From the Talking Heads song… “how did I get here?”

Went to the country club down the street for a birthday wine 🍷 for @swimthetide.bsky.social birthday. We had never been inside and lounge and restaurant are open to the public, so we checked it out. The mountains were putting on a special B-day show for Beckie.

Our guys seem to be doing pretty well!

Christmas tree lit but no ornaments yet, fire going, unpacked enough the house feels like a home. Ready to try and celebrate the holidays a little. Please remember many people seem happy but are in pain on the Holidays. Be kind.

I just finished cutting and peeling a Kabocha squash to go with other roasted veggies for our little feast. A jackhammer would have been useful.
Just a reminder to all the rookies on KP duty today, be careful! Most important thing is to have all the fingers you started with!

Got the weather sensor mounted finally. Went with the mobility of a block-o-cement mount rather than a higher permanent mount. This won’t be as accurate with wind speed & direction, but I’m not running an airboat in coastal waters anymore. I just want “is it better or worse than yesterday” accuracy.

As we continue the never ending struggle of unpacking and finding places for everything in our new home, I came across my laptop pc. For the last 2 or so years I’ve been on my MacBook or iPad. Needless to say I forgot the password for my pc. It’s fine now, but it was close!

I’ve been having lunch at this bar & cafe for 50 years (okay, so it’s been 40 since my last visit) and it’s still amazingly good food. So if you’re hungry in southern NM, don’t let the appearance intimidate you.

Several good people were following this account. Horrible stuff posted. Vetting accounts before you follow is only way we can keep this place civilized.

We are settling into our new home. Street tocos tonight. Seasoned pork, fresh roasted green chile, cilantro and onions, and fresh pineapple bits for the adventurous. Side of rice, beans & veggies.

I just love this.

Not panicking, we did start stocking up on essentials, grains, beans, poultry. You know, imports or agricultural goods that will likely skyrocket if labor pool is exported and tariffs imposed. Vacuum sealer recommended. Too bad eggs don’t freeze well. We’re gonna miss them. @swimthetide.bsky.social

I borrowed/stole these pics from @chipper24 on the other platform. He obviously lives on the other side of the Rio Grande from us and captured some amazing shots of the snow covered Organ Mountains yesterday.

We seem to be past the halfway mark on unpacking. Taking extra long as we also work on finding new essential services, harder in NM than most areas strangely. But we are getting there. Took the time to read the manual on the fireplace and we are enjoying it on the first day of snow on mountains.
