Our friend, Ibrahima Bah, is having his case considered for appeal on 4th December.

Join us and @freeibrahimabah.bsky.social to demand justice
Ibrahima Bah is a teenage asylum seeker from Senegal who is being imprisoned in the UK. In December 2022, he was steering a dinghy that broke apart in the Channel. Very sadly, four people drowned, and five are still 'missing at sea'.

We continue to advocate for the release of those imprisoned and for the end of the criminalisation of movement

Ibrahima, for example, was sentenced this February to 9.5 years imprisonment after the dinghy he was steering broke apart.

Ibrahima Bah was sentenced to nine years for steering a ‘death trap’ dinghy across the Channel. Was he really to blame?
The young asylum seeker was forced into piloting the boat on which at least four people drowned. Under new ‘stop the boats’ laws, he’s responsible for their deaths – but others say he’s a victim

We resist the racist practice of criminalising freedom of movement and to support those who are impacted.

We write to, send money to and visit people who have been imprisoned for small boat crossings.

In June 2022, the UK government introduced the new offence of 'illegal arrival'. for use against people arriving to seek safety and a better life

Since then, it has charged and imprisoned over 450 people for crossing the Channel in 'small boats'

We stand against this injustice
