Just a suburban Star Wars fan, with some secret tastes…
Living next door to people who speak different languages and are originally from different cultures is how we get great Italian, Chinese, Korean, Greek, Thai, Vietnamese, etc restaurants and shops. It’s how we learn about other places and people.

Also, if a new constitutional amendment passes, stating that one must be in the US legally in order for a child to be a citizen, I’d be ok with that. But I wouldn’t go as far as Trump to eliminate it for students or people here on long term, but temporary, work VISA’s.

They are counting on the fact that tourists and undocumented mothers giving birth won’t have the wherewithal to sue when their child isn’t automatically given US citizenship. This will eventually get to SCOTUS, and they will uphold birthright citizenship.

So if a Texas citizen goes to Las Vegas to gamble (where it is legal) and comes back to Texas (where gambling is not legal), can Texas prosecute that person? Or if a Texan goes to Illinois and smokes weed (where it is legal)? How will this end?

Good for you! Sounds like my experience in Judaism, when we had Bible class and they started at Genesis and Adam & Eve. When they told me Adam & Eve’s son “took a wife”, I raised my hand and asked “where did he find a wife if there were only 3 people in the world?” I was told to shut up.

I wish I had the discipline to write consistently enough and with enough creativity to publish anywhere. So it’s great that you are getting your thoughts to the world.

I started following your Substack. Fantastic! I think that this person you have a crush on would not care one bit about your # of followers. It’s quality over quantity. Your content self selects for a certain demographic & that’s what’s important! So contact her without worry!! She’ll be grateful!

I always say something like “it’s been such a long time since we’ve seen each other.”

That’s what I sort of remember about rubella. So I’m not worried about it.
March 18, 2025 at 9:58 PM
Is that something I should worry about? Apparently I’ve gone my whole life without rubella immunity.
March 18, 2025 at 9:22 PM
I actually did that last week. I couldn’t remember if I had measles or not. I have lots of antibodies for measles and mumps, none for rubella. Just made an appt with Quest.

If you do the phone-to-phone transfer, it takes forever. If you just do cloud backup, it’s way faster, but it takes a while to get all your apps re-downloaded. I learned my lesson a few phones ago.

Too many people do not value creative work, and the time it takes to do that work. Sure, you CAN make a website on Wix or SquareSpace, but a well designed one requires skill and time. And that has value.

So when kids start dying from measles in the south because anti-vaxxers change school requirements, will they blame Joe Biden?

Maybe initially you needed to do it on a browser? Did they update the app, perhaps?
