obviously the solution is to drop off at the Q80 stop just up the street, then take that to the AirTrain station /s

FYI Ghostbusters 2 predicted all of this

I believe it's pretty solidly the "Phase 2" of Penn Station Access, which basically means no movement until Phase 1 (New Haven Line via Hell Gate) is done, and uh, sounds like that ain't happening any time soon

tbf if Wheatley just being metal bowling ball is a problem but GLaDOS being a ceiling-mounted swiveling chassis isn't a problem, then maybe we just need to start sexualizing this Wheatley:

I often like to remember this story about Glenn Greenwald initially being contacted by Edward Snowden.

He was sitting on one of the biggest scandals of the digital age and *ignored it* because he was too lazy to encrypt his emails, forcing Snowden to use an intermediary to contact him instead.

Yeah, that set was a massive improvement over how it was in the previous redesign. In 2009 (second picture) it basically looked like they gutted the place and put in a boring normal convenience store. The 2015 design actually looks like a modern evolution from the original set.

Jim Walden, finding out that while 40% of voters would not consider voting for him, 50% have no idea who he is:

Tbf I think it being after the OMNY rollout is so they don't have to don't have to temporarily retrofit Metrocard compatibility into it, otherwise they'd have to have freestanding fareboxes in front of each gate until Metrocard is officially phased out, like here at Atlantic Terminal

Although, the term "retail video games" seems to indicate that it only applies to games as they were released, so it's possible that if Portal 2 game demos exist on the Game Informer CDs, they MIGHT grant access to someone researching those builds?
April 8, 2025 at 12:52 PM
Unfortunately I don't think we'd get to see any game builds, since copyright prevents them from making those available. I checked their existing demo archive and they make sure to remove the actual game files. So, best we can hope for is the press images (maybe even some unreleased ones?)

Fun fact: In German parliament in November 1932, the Social Democrats (SPD, in red) and Communists (KPD, dark red) actually slightly outnumbered the Nazis (brown) and could have joined forces against the Nazis' rise to power, but didn't, because the KPD saw the SPD as the greater threat.
