They will probably focus on defence spending meant to fortify Europe against Russia. When/if the war with China comes to the Pacific, the US will be on their own

Just like the last civil war foreign powers will take sides even if they remain ‘officially neutral’. The most likely scenario is Russia and China supporting one side until they got the upper hand and then switching sides so it will be as long and bloody as possible.
