It's a trilogy about an alt history version of ww1 with bioengineered machine animal hybrids and giant mechs. I remember liking the story alright enough tho it's been years since i read those books so idk how well I could recommend them, however the art has stuck with me for years.

Anyways, more illustrations from Leviatian cus they're pretty and I love them. Thank you for sitting through a rant about a book series i read in high school that probably no one cares about 🫶

Maybe it's actually a good adaptation after all, and god knows the artists and animators were probably overworked or outsourced. Just the illustrations were 80% of the appeal of those books. I continued reading to see what other drawing could show up on the next page.

Like yeah, I get it can't be as detailed cus it's being animated but like, at that point why do it at all? It's not like Leviatian is that popular of a series? This feels similar to that one junji ito anime that doesn't at all do his illustrations justice. Orz
