MSc talk went well and my thesis was accepted with revisions. Thanks again to all of the folks who attended via zoom. I had a much larger turnout on zoom than I was anticipating, and seeing all of your names in the participant list was very encouraging this morning.

Question for the fishy folks. These spines seem like they would be relatively diagnostic, but what acanthodian do these belong to? I’ve never seen anything like them.

To show what I’m talking about. Everything in the image is cartilage, teeth, or denticles. Obviously newer scans can produce better results, but do you think there is some material that if rescanned we might be able to visualize more of the cartilaginous braincase?

Last Thursday, a publication I coauthored was published in The Zoological Journal of the Linnean Society. In the publication, we provided a revised diagnosis and description of the Pennsylvanian embolomere Calligenethlon watsoni. The data can be accessed @ MorphoSource.org via media # 0006677245
