Both Garner and McQueen's roles (along with Coburn and Bronson) were invented to pander to the American audiences. Garner's role could have worked if he had been written as Canadian. According to interviews later on McQueen was a complete diva on set.

RFK Jr was caught out when asked whether his children had been vaccinated, he avoided the question. I.E. they were. The same is true for all the most popular anti-vaxxers, they know the truth, but providing it doesn't hurt them they don't care.

I could do the same with my diesel car with an auxiliary diesel heater. But honestly the range, which is based on the fuel sensor isn't that accurate and could quite easily read higher after an hour.
