I've been replaying hollow knight in anticipation of silksong coming out soon (tomorrow!!!) and I completely forgot about this moment with hornet after you get rid of her mother herrah... man the atmosphere is SO good in this game. I felt compelled to paint something based on that :']

There was a study that satellite tagged 'Ua'u and one of the birds flew 53,000 km over the course of three months to and from its burrow??? They're pretty amazing :]

These guys are the only surviving native crow species in Hawai'i, but are currently considered extinct in the wild which is a huge shame. I'm hoping The 'Alalā Project will be successful in the future!
