I think it's more charming when an indie movie from the 1950's is bad because you can chalk a lot of it up to low budget or technical limitations of the time. If you're in the 2020's and funded by Amazon you have access to some real movie magic, so your movie really has no excuse to be THAT bad.
I've been on a bad movie kick lately. Yesterday I watched War of the Worlds (2025). Today I watched Plan 9 from Outer Space (1957) because I wanted to compare the worst movie of 2025 to something that's widely considered the worst movie of all time.
I hate to say I thought Plan 9 was better.
