I was surprised after being introduced to the character in later iterations, but in the beginning he was definitely written with a more bombastic confidence and joked more. Definitely he has become more elegantly confident in the comics from what I’ve noticed. Felt Gunn did a good mix!

I have been reading through the 90s to 2010 runs of JSA, and they basically say just that. Billy gets a lot of advice from the gods, but it can be outdated and sometimes harmful.

Definitely would love to see that explored more in a current CM run.
