everything in my body is like "you grew up on windows os and its easy! just buy a new one and suffer punk!!" and like at the end of all of that its like, also i literally cannot afford a new computer lmfao. we are in a recession and depression. fuckers!

im just like, goddammit!! it is genuinely difficult to make conscientous shopping decisions when the world is so broken and reliant on tech!!! 😤 its like a fucking maze!

our best option currently is switching to mac! which is frustrating cuz i dont necessarily think its an ethically better company, its just that i can buy it used and trust theyre not gonna immediately obsolescence it thru OS updates, and they have a better chance learning the system

at least in the sense where i cant just download linux on all of their systems and be like "good luck learning how to use that! :)" cuz thats just not functional for them when they literally NEED a computer that they can efficiently use RIGHT AWAY

my partner, their mom, and one of my besties all just want very basic laptops to do business and school on, but recently all of their computers broke in some way, and we all care about not buying new tech! but bcuz windows is forcing everyone to buy new for 11 its almost impossible to buy used

this is at least 6 years old and i think about it all the time and start laughing (og username on tumblr is gooone if anyone knows how to source it)
