The irony is that those who will suffer most if Farage becomes PM will be reform voters. So to be honest desperation is the wrong word. Resignation might be better. No helping some!

Fair comment. My point was really in comparison to Europe as a continent, but I agree. There are plenty of smaller islands!

So the real reason to rejoin is simple, it’s the ‘right thing to do’. It puts the UK as part of the global community, not a small island just interested in itself. The fact that it will be socially, politically and economically advantageous as well is important, but not the main issue for me.

There is an old proverb if you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together. Working together is hard, it requires compromise and real dialogue. But it is the only way to solve big problems. The UK wanting to play alone just comes across as selfish and self entitled.

Then we will need to accept Farage as PM and the continued decline of the country. Personally I plan to change the narrative or go down trying. I will not stand by passive and let the decline continue until it is irreparable. I appreciate some are not ready yet But when you have had enough join us.
