Anniversary of the death of #WilliamBlake on this day 1827 has been nicely marked in Bunhill Fields. Seems there’s a commemoration planned for Saturday. @islingtonwalks.bsky.social

Fanny Wilkinson didn’t get to design many gardens around Bloomsbury. Red Lion Square in Holborn is one of the few nearby. Very good to see the recently installed plaque there.

Philippa (brilliant mathematician, inspiration for #williammorris) one of the least known Garrett women. Harold Steward Rathbone’s portrait now in the @morrisgallery gallery used to be at 2 Gower Street, Join Sue’s #bloomsbury walk on Friday afternoon to find out more bit.ly/4deBwNL

So helpful for planning a literary walk if the author marks a fictional location on a real map! I expect it helped that when Michael Sadler wrote Forlorn Sunset who was working at his publisher.

Seems appropriate that this infill project in Kiln Place, only a stone’s throw from Neave Brown’s Fleet Road ( now Dunboyne) Estate, won RIBA’s Neave Brown award for Peter Barber in 2022 as well as the MJLong prize for Project Lead Alice Brownfield.
