Humpback whales were the highlight of this past weekend. We saw Gannets and Bottlenose dolphins, Scoters galore. But the best was Humpback whales lunge feeding and kick feeding and lobtailing.

The fall migration continues with more Humpback whales, Tamanends Bottlenose dolphins, Gannets, Scoters etc! The drop off in temps is temporary- it’s already warming back up at the shore.

🌊 Not only did we get to see a Humpback whale mother with her calf, but mom was actively lunge feeding on Atlantic Menhaden! These Bunker as we call them are said to be the most important fish in the sea!

Our Humpback whale activity has been increasing. Check out these photos by Jerry Meyers of this un-identified Humpback whale. After submittal to HappyWhale and Gotham whale, this whale has not been photo ID before, though we got to see this whale four times over a couple of weeks!

Two Humpback whales and one hundred Bottlenose dolphins offshore of Delaware today! We had gobs of Atlantic Menhaden and lots of Lunge Feeding activity. It was an awesome afternoon.
