After years of delay, methane regulations have finally been released.

This is positive news, but this one step forward on climate policy must be balanced against the giant leaps backward stemming from the Canada-Alberta MOU.

Methane rules should be celebrated as the first substantive climate measure of the Carney government.

But context is key: huge delays, special carve-outs, and a ton of other bad climate policies courtesy of the Alberta-Canada MOU.
