I think it's mostly they are young, ESL from a small country. It just didn't remotely occur to them it was possible to get caught the way they did. Seems risky to us but it didn't to them.

I think this analysis misses something though. Both teams already had highly paid quarterbacks, it's not choosing between Parsons and a Qb1. The question is whether it's worth paying your second best player that salary.

You are just describing the market I think. Someone paid for them, paying interest on the loans if they are just holding. Build enough and they are forced to sell cheaper.

He is not going to ask for/ get more than Matthews, at least from the Leafs. Would love to have him but cap space is already gone. I guarantee whatever they use his cap space for will be a downgrade.

Let him walk and the team will be worse next year. Yes he also gets paid to defend. Why does Tavares get such a pass? He makes more, 2pts in game 3 only and looked way too slow.

It wasn't even a miss, he blew the play down with the Oilers having possession which he isn't supposed to do. Just too much of a coward to actually call the penalty and "influence the game".
