Peace is not merely an absence of fighting. Peace is achieved when everyone is able to say “I have what I need, and when I don’t I will work harder to help you get what you need, so you may know what I need as well.”
Rabbi Hillel had said: In the absence of humanity, you must be the one to bring it. (Pirkei Avot 2:5)
