I feel the same, but I love Near Dark. I feel like for me specifically, its due to nostalgia. I grew up watching Lost Boys, and didn't discover Near Dark until later in life.

I promise it's kickass! Near Dark came out in 87 just like Lost Boys. Its in the same league, just a slightly different flavor.
