Oregon is slightly less expensive than Washington, but not much. Definitely, DEFINITELY take a weekend and visit before you pull the trigger. I can give advice on certain areas, but ultimately it’ll be about whether a place is your vibe or not.

I moved from New Jersey to Washington in a tiny sedan. I took only what I could fit in my car with me and got rid of the rest. Sell whatever you can and then buy what you need when you get there. Keep in mind that the West Coast is expensive—more than you think. You get what you pay for, though.
