Planting more native trees, shrubs, and perennials on my small bit of property to help climate change.

More trees planted. Such a soul satisfying activity. We got 150 trees planted in an area that had compact soil. Those holes were hard to dig. But we volunteers knew how to work and got the job done. We planted next to a creek that had been uncovered. #livinggreen #ontarionature #conservation

I live in hope. Planted lots of trees today with Living Green Barrie. Lots of volunteers and kids. Next planting on Tuesday.

Protests outside US Embassy in Ottawa. Small but vocal group with big flags and great signs. We were proud to be a part of the concerned citizens of Canada. #CanadaStrong @truenorthhq.bsky.social

Shame on Ontario Premier Doug Ford for allowing more environmental degradation. Dead fish pictured in an important waterfowl area where the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources has a sign that says Fish Sanctuary. #environmentalpollution #ministryofnaturalresources

Had something delicious and truly #canadian this snowy, winter morning. Red River cereal with #canadian maple syrup and soya milk.

Tommy Douglas, former leader of the political party that brought Canada its amazing healthcare. BTW, Kiefer Sutherland is his grandson. Plus, I love Barbara Kingsolver. And thank you, Wikipedia for the photo.

What is happening south of the border at the moment is beyond worrisome. Thank gawd Canada is a member of NATO. Plus here are some figures from US Border services. Apparently American politicians don't consult the facts. Thanks @knitpickerspei.bsky.social

Started a scrappy crocheted blanket using all my scraps that are wool based. It will be huge. Because I used a larger hook, the drape is beautiful. I change colours every row. So easy, but so addictive. Lots of ends to sew in, but I don't mind. Meditative work in these troubled times. #crochetaway

I learned to love spiders and how they are an integral part of our environments, even our lawns.
